Gear Up

GEAR UP – which stands for Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs – is a federally-funded program that works to address systemic barriers to postsecondary success and career options for students and families. Through a competitive process, awardees receive six- or seven-year grants to provide services designed to meet this challenge.

GEAR UP 4 LA is an inclusive organization that works with middle and high schools that are ready and need the proactive and rich services we provide. Following a cohort model, GU4LA currently serves the Classes of 2024 and 2025 across 22 high school campuses, or 41 individual schools, within Los Angeles Unified School District and two high school campuses within Bright Star Schools.
